“Well, what a wonderful staycation in Scratby/Gt Yarmouth, thank you so much Jo Macey holidays, as this was last minute booking and you exceeded our expectations. We stayed at California cliffs holiday park, so much to do there for children and for adults too. The dog friendly beach is just a 5 minute walk away from the site the beach goes for miles so great for walkers,or go have paddle or just build castles. Gt Yarmouth is a short drive from the caravan site. We had the best time together and with family and friends. Why did you become a travel agent?
Travel has never just been a hobby for me – it’s part of who I am. I’ve always had that constant pull towards the horizon, wondering where to explore next. Wanderlust truly runs through my veins.
While most people unwind with TV or a good book of an evening, I’m researching destinations, watching travel vlogs, reading blogs, diving into cruise itineraries or discovering new tour routes. It’s genuinely my favourite pastime. I don’t switch off from travel – I lean into it.
Over the years I became the go-to person for friends, family and colleagues for holiday advice and itinerary ideas. I love piecing together the perfect trip, finding those hidden gems, and adding thoughtful touches that make it unforgettable.
Turning that lifelong passion into a career wasn’t just a business decision – it felt like a natural calling. Now I get to wake up every day and help others experience the world in a way that’s personal, exciting and completely their own. And honestly? That’s such a privilege.
What kind of holidays do you specialise in?
I absolutely love planning multi-centre escapes and more complex itineraries – the kind of trips where you combine destinations, mix a tour with a cruise, or add a relaxing stay onto the end of an adventure. Those layered, thoughtfully put-together holidays really fire me up. I love the research, the logistics, and piecing everything together so it flows seamlessly.
That said, I truly believe there’s no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to travel. Sometimes you want an epic USA road trip… and sometimes you just want to switch off on a sun lounger with a good book. I’m exactly the same – after an intense multi-centre adventure, I’ll be ready for my own fly-and-flop beach break too!

What’s your favourite place you’ve ever visited?
That’s a tough one! there have been many that are in my favourites. But if I had to choose, then it would be the holiday to Canada with my lovely Dad. We went to see the Calgary Stampede Festival, which was amazing in it’s own right. But we also ventured to Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and the Rockies…and the scenery, the landscapes, the towns…just stunning! It literally took my breath away.
What’s always in your suitcase?
After Sun and high factor sun cream! I’m so pale and often get a little too toasted.
What’s your travel style?
I love a mix – some relaxed days by the beach, but I’m also drawn to culture, nature, and a bit of exploring. Give me a scenic train journey or a road trip with epic views and I’m sold. I love to immerse in the culture of a destination…to really experience it.

What’s your dream destination still to tick off?
After seeing BBC1’s Race Across The World, I have been so inspired to see China and Japan. I’d like a tour, or possibly a mix of a tour and cruise to see it in all it’s glory, and comfort with the cruise element. Cruises are great for that! See many destinations but unpack once and wake up to new vistas each day.
